Synopsis

Argentine footage of the fall of Puerto Argentino/Port Stanley.

Shots of attacks on runway at Port Stanley. Argentine troops stroll along streets (large amount of camera movement). General footage of columns of Argentine soldiers and vehicles on coastal road. Shots of bombing raids by RAF and Royal Navy - buildings hit in distance, with billowing smoke and fires; includes shots of the hospital in flames. First British Marines entering Port Stanley filmed by Argentine film crew. Shots of Argentine army doctors outside the hospital - Argentine flag still flying. Marines at Government House. Gazelle helicopter and Sea King (medical ?) helicopter. General Moore arrives at Government House with journalists, followed by Special Forces. Troops greet each other after the surrender. Officials (one in Red Cross armband) talk in Spanish.

Notes

Technical: poor quality U-matic tape. This is unique footage which was never broadcast. There is some French off-air footage at the end - left over from previous use of tape.
