Synopsis

LS off the starboard beam of HMS Euryalus steaming in calm sea. LS of HMS Indomitable. MS forward along starboard deck edge to island of cameraship, HMS Venerable - the ship's crane is swung inboard and a Barracuda is lifted off the deck while crew check the starboard undercarriage. HA.LS from the island as a range of Barracudas and Corsairs take off. XLS of one of the escorting destroyers silhouetted against the rising sun. Deck-level sequence as Barracuda takes off. MS-CU shooting aft from sponson on port side as Corsair IV lands on - three more follow. Barracudas fly past and four land on. LA.MS to two men descending from Type 281 air search radar on mainmast to the crow's nest platform below. Sequence showing the task group in line ahead - HMS Swiftsure and HMS Euryalus astern of the cameraship, and HMS Indomitable and destroyers in the van - Barracudas and Corsairs are ranged aft on Venerable.
