Admiral W N Fechteler USN visits Malta, November 26 1953.

Admiral Fechteler emerges from Skymaster to be welcomed by Admiral and Lady Mountbatten. He takes salute and inspects Guard of Honour, accompanied by Captain Smeeton (CO, RNAS Hal Far); introductions to Deputy Chiefs, NATO. RNAS Hal Far; Band and Guard march past. Fechteler and Mountbatten leave by car. Admiral Fechteler visits RN HQ, Lascaris, and HAFMED, Floriana; he takes salute and inspects Guard of Honour before departing at Luqa airport. Admiral and lady Mountbatten and senior officers say goodbye to Admiral Fechteler, his wife and daughter.
