AERIAL VIEWS OF THE MALAYAN JUNGLE

This film is held by the Imperial War Museum (ID: ADM 1522).

Synopsis

Aerial views of jungle terrain filmed from one of the helicopters of 848 Squadron.

Aerial views of jungle-covered hills. The tops of the ridges are obscured by a dense cloud layer which the camera-aircraft sometimes enters. The aircraft loses height on reaching more level ground, then spirals in towards a small cleared area - apparently with the intention of landing. Final shot from the camera-aircraft flying at speed low over dense jungle.

Notes

Remarks: if the object of this film is to illustrate the difficulties which jungle terrain presents to all but airborne transport, it is eminently successful
