Synopsis
Visit of Commander-in-Chief, Italian Naval Forces to Malta, July 1955.
(Part 1) Italian flagship Luigi di Savoia Duca Degli Abruzzi fires salute as Vice-Admiral Vittorio De Pace (C-in-C) visits C-in-C Med on board HMS Surprise. He steps onto deck, is greeted and inspects RM Guard. Surprise fires salute as he leaves. (Part 2) Wreath-laying ceremony at Pembroke Cemetery. Vice-Admiral De Pace and Admiral Grantham arrive, with British and Italian Guards of Honour, to lay wreaths at memorial. RM buglers sound Last Post and Reveille. Officers and Guards salute. CUs of ratings. Marching away.
