II. HMS Duke of York enters Sydney harbour. HA onto focsle while at sea - men are laid out untidily, relaxing in the sun. CU of man at spotting binoculars - he swings round from left profile until he is nearly looking directly into the camera - a second look-out does the same. HA onto port bow wave as it streams astern. A man sits on the upper tier of barrels to clean multiple 2-pounder. Bow wave again - escorting destroyer in LS on port quarter. Rifle practice on the quarter deck - men and officers lie prone on mats firing at a target post by guard rail. HA onto port side of focsle where men line the side for entry into Sydney - a tug precedes the battleship. Duke of York goes alongside, and a Union Jack is run up ensign staff.

III. HMAS Oxfordshire embarks POWs. Onboard a Japanese landing craft a POW on stretcher shakes the hand of Japanese navy man and grasps his arm in a gesture of thanks - the Japanese makes a patting motion to indicate that the man should lie still, and then moves off as two other Japanese pick up the stretcher and carry it onto a cargo platform to be swung up onto the hospital ship. A second man is transferred - he sits upright on his stretcher.

IV. Clearance of graving dock. LA to head of crane as it lifts a length of heavy chain. Shots around basin of dry dock. Fine MS of heavy travelling crane with screw derrick. HA onto floor of dock - a few men are moving about. CU of a heap of chain as crane lifts it away.
