Synopsis
Opening shot over tail of Seafire IIC (serial MB.148) parked on cameraship HMS Victorious - Force H in XLS on horizon. French cargo-passenger ship Jamaique and a companion lie beneath the cliffs at Gibraltar. LSs of HMS Furious - she signals. Hunt Type II destroyer passes. Force H sorties - Furious astern of cameraship as she passes harbour guard motor launches - merchantmen in background. At sea - shots from hangar deck to Furious silhouetted on the horizon - wake of cameraship in low sun - LS pan from HMS Rodney to Furious as the carrier flashes a signal. Shot over the starboard wing of a parked Seafire to upper works of Rodney. LA.CU of three bladed propeller of Seafire. HMS Nelson keeps station off port bow of cameraship - she signals. Sunset sea seen from hangar deck - a crewman smokes a pipe in the foreground. MS as a range of Albacores are run up. Pilot boards aircraft - MCUs of cockpit, propeller turning over, torpedo armament. MLS of escorting destroyer on cameraship`s port quarter. Four Albacores take off. MLS off starboard bow of cruisers HMS Bermuda and HMS Argonaut steaming in close company. Final MS off the port quarter of HMS Duke of York.
