Synopsis

I. Miscellaneous naval material. LS across harbour at Alexandria - Nelson Class battleship signals to shore. MS profile of H Class destroyer, Stern 3/4 MS, HMS Troubridge. Signal line shot between destroyers and despatch bag passed across. Night firing sequence. LS of distant shoreline at dawn. Forward 3/4 MS of Arethusa Class light cruiser at speed in calm conditions. Officers keep watch on the bridge.

II. PM Menzies comes aboard HMS Perth and inspects the crew, talks with captain, etc.

III. Admiral Harwood with Wendell Willkie, General Maxwell and press representatives in Alexandria.

IV. Aerial MSs of 9 Swordfish flying around Gibraltar on film in V-formation and five aircraft in line abreast.

V. MLS off silhouette on sunlit sea (of HMS Prince of Wales ?). Churchill and daughter, Mary, on board - she disembarks. Heavy sea - framed by guns of X turret. HA MS of waves breaking over the bow, MCU, starboard aft 5.25-inch turret. Multiple pom-pom fires (from abreast fore funnel) Churchill, Beaverbrook, Dill, Portal, Pound and others on the quarter-deck. Churchill goes ashore in USA. POW recovers her Walrus aircraft - crane swung out over port side.

Film of Menzies and Wendell Willkie in the Middle East, and Churchill on the HMS Duke of York bound for Annapolis, USA (Operation Arcadia).
