CARRIER FLYING (RUSHES 3)

Synopsis
I. Hawker Sea Fury 098 takes off from Illustrious Class aircraft carrier. Safety barrier lifts behind aircraft.
II. Camera pans to follow small formations and individual Firefly aircraft as they fly past aircraft carrier.
III. Flight deck activity. HA.MS from bridge as Firefly 5, with wings tipped, taxies along deck. LS and MS of Supermarine Seafires and Fairey Firefly 1s ranged on after deck preparatory to take off. LS to aircraft parked on forward end of flight deck - safety barriers are lowered as Firefly 5 taxies up to join them, and are then raised again. MS aft along starboard side to ranged aircraft (Seafire Mk 47 with wings tipped but engine running, in foreground). MCU of Firefly 1 (Sea Fury in background). MS of running range - Firefly 1 taxies into take off position.
IV. Pilots in ward room relax over drinks (Staged).
V. LS along flight deck as landing Sea Fury takes arrester line - batsman to right of frame.
VI. MCU as Seafire 47 (LA 432, with 5 bladed airscrew) is ditched over port side of aircraft carrier underway - camera pans down to aircraft in sea.
VII. aircraft carrier in Malta harbour. Lift rises, Firefly 1 is positioned and struck below - crew member jumps onto descending lift.
VIII. CU as aircraft wheel passes over petrol-saturated electric cable and fire starts.
IX. Period costume sequence showing captain's galley coming alongside a 104-gun ship of the line, and captain going aboard in a bosun's chair to be greeted by commander.
