Synopsis

I. AA Defence of ships. LA.MS of twin 40mm AA as it trains and fires - destroyer's funnel in the background, frame right. MS in rear of 6x40mm on aircraft carrier - mounting trains and fires.

II. Aerial MLSs of HMS Eagle underway with escorting destroyer - Sea Hawks are parked forward.

III. Westland Dragonfly. Commencing with MCU of cockpit, the aircraft lifts off and turns away, the camera following its motions. LA sequence as helicopter G 1707 enters frame right, to hover and then slowly settle. LS-MS as G 1707 enters frame right, to hover and then settle. LS-MS as G 1707 flies into full frame, hovers, settling slightly, before running away again.

IV. Periscope array. MS over smooth sea - snort and attack periscope cut the surface, left to right. Similar shot of search periscope running right to left - it scans and submerges, then radar and radio aerials emerge for the remainder of the shot.

V. LS of Daring Class destroyer underway on a smooth sea.

VI. MLS off starboard bow of HMS Apollo underway at sea. Cut to LS off port bow, with a helicopter approaching camera from mid-distance.

VII. LS off the port beam of RFA oiler Olna steaming in a moderate sea.

VIII. HMS Glasgow at moorings in Grand Harbour, Malta. Shots of ship's boat being lowered into the water, cast off from crane, and making away from the ship - motor pinnace and small skiff are secured to lower boom. Motor boat shoves off from below gangway - despatch vessel HMS Surprise secured to a mooring buoy in the background of one shot. Motor boat approaches carrying women in bathing suits - they wave to camera. Admiral's barge approaches quay and comes alongside - Admiral and ADC step ashore - cable vessel in the background.
