Synopsis
Commander-in-Chief of the Allied Forces in the Middle East, General Auchinleck, arrives at Nicosia Aerodrome, Cyprus. Plane landing, Hurricane escort. The General alights from the plane and is greeted by Major General Ramsden. He enters a car, which drives off. Luggage being unloaded. The General inspects Bofors anti-aircraft guns and crew of the 50th Division at the aerodrome. He inspects the digging of trenches and dug-outs on the aerodrome. He visits an encampment in a wood and the docks at Famagusta. He visits the Cyprus Volunteer Force encampment and inspects anti-aircraft and coastal defence guns. He meets officers of the 69th Brigade. He inspects fortifications with Captain O Lyttleton and the Governor of Cyprus and sees infantry in a breaking through wire demonstration.
