Synopsis

The work of a Victory Kitchen, a government relief scheme. Vegetables and fruit are brought to Pitkali market by farmers then bought in bulk by a representative of the Communal Feeding Department. Carts take the food to the redistribution centre. The food is prepared at one of the kitchens. Firewood collected from blitzed houses is used in the kitchen galleys. Preparing of a stew. Customers at the kitchen for their midday meal.
