Synopsis

25 Oct. 1943. The hospital ship Leinster arrives at Malta and ties up alongside the dockyard wharf. The patients are offloaded and put into ambulances. The hospital ship Dinard steams into the Grand Harbour. HMS Nelson is in the foreground. The ambulances in convoy travel through the Maltese countryside to the 45 General Hospital. At the Reception Centre in Hamrun the ambulances drive in and the orderlies carry the patients to the wards.

22 Oct. 1943. The American Secretary of the State to the Treasury Henry Morgenthau, accompanied by Dr Harry D White, is met at Lucqa Airport by Sir Keith Park, the AOC in Malta and Major General Oxley, the GOC. He has lunch with Lord Gort and is then taken on a tour of the bombed dockyard. In Valletta they visit St John's Cathedral. He is accompanied by Naval Lieutenant Franklin Roosevelt Junior.

Casualties from the battlefields of Italy arrive on Malta from hospital ships. American visit to Malta.
