Synopsis
5 Aug. 1944. From outside the Palace in Valletta, Lord Gort is driven slowly through the main street accompanied by the Band Clubs and an enthusiastic crowd.
6 Aug. 1944. Lord Gort pauses at the Rohan Arch on the way to the aerodrome and is greeted by the villagers of Zebbug. On arrival at Hal Far Airfield he inspects an RAF guard of honour and says farewell to his friends. He poses for a photograph with the heads of the services then puts on his life jacket or "Mae West". He waves farewell from the cockpit. The plane taxies off.
