Synopsis
British prisoners of war travel from Italy to Cairo via Alexandria.
The hospital ship Llandovery Castle enters Alexandria Docks. Medical officers board the ship. Wounded officers at the portholes. Red Cross nurses on board. Crowds waiting on the shore. Australian and RAF wounded come ashore. Stretcher cases are carried down the gangway. The wounded board a Red Cross train. Nurses wave goodbye as the train moves off. The wounded having dinner on the train and smoking and reading. Girls at Tanta station, Egypt, hand out cakes and tea to the wounded soldiers. Girls hand out cigarettes at the station. The walking wounded leave the train at Cairo station. Rhodesian Liaision Officer speaking to the wounded.
