Synopsis

13 April 1942. British prisoners of war returned from Italy recording a broadcast to their families at the 15th Scottish Hospital, Egypt. Captain Peter Haddon is in charge. The dialogue is radioed direct to London and put on disc there and rebroadcast on the BBC two days later.

15 April 1942. Commander-in-Chief General Auchinleck watches manoeuvres through field glasses and inspects an armoured radio car. Crew of Indian gunners setting up gun. Bren gun carrier on the move. Auchinleck inspects a platoon of carriers and crews. He is accompanied by Brigadier Custance, Commander of the 8th Armoured Brigade and Major Geddes, Second-in-Command of the "Greys" and General Corbett, Chief of Staff. The inspected Brigade also included components of the Buffs and the 3rd Indian Motor Brigade Group (18th Lancers).
