NEW POLISH FORCES IN IRAN AND IRAQ

Synopsis

Poles picking up their kits as they leave Tehran. They clamber up into the lorry. Polish cadets training, "eyes right" into camera then "eyes front". Polish NCO shouting the drill orders. The lorries pass though the barracks gates as the journey commences.

The convoy leaves the rest camp of Abadan. Inside of the lorry filled with Poles. The convoy winds up a mountain road. A local on a donkey. The convoy passes over an old bridge.

The Poles climb out at a rest camp. They enter a tent. A group unpacks their kit. Two Poles wash their faces and share a towel. A Polish soldier drinks.

The convoy passes a tank trap in the heavily defended Paitan Pass, gateway to Iraq. Gurkha sentry. An Iraqi frontier official beneath his flag checks the convoy. Customs notice. The lorry crosses into Iraq.

Polish recruits leave Tehran and are taken across Iran in RIASC (Royal Indian Army Service Corps) transport to Iraq.
