Synopsis

Exercise at Mombasa, Kenya.

121 Force scale the cliff face, defended by the King's African Rifles. Lieutenant-Colonel M M Alston-Roberts-West is commanding the 2nd Battalion, South Lancashire Regiment. Exercise at the causeway connecting Mombasa to the mainland. The other British officers present are Brigadier F W Festing; Lieutenant-Colonel D J Dean VC, Pioneer Corps; Lieutenant-Colonel Stockwell, Royal Welsh Fusiliers; Major-General R G Sturges; Rear Admiral W G Tennant and Admiral Sir James F Somerville.
