Synopsis
Film of locations of the landings made on 5 May 1942 when the Royal Navy carrying the Commandos and the 29th Infantry Brigade landed at Courrier Bay and the landing point "Blue Beach", near Diego Suarez (Antsiranana), Madagascar.
Aerial view of Diego Suarez. Promontory abouve Courrier Bay known as "Windsor Castle": forts and blockhouses where the fighting took place. Ceremony of Beating the Retreat with the 1st Battalion of the Royal Scots Fusiliers and the Pretoria Highlanders watched by local crowds. 4th Battalion, Northern Rhodesia Regiment (part of 27th Brigade) landing at Diego Suarez. They form a patrol and advance through the jungle. They are drilled by a Sergeant-Major.
