RELENTLESS WAR ON HURS; ROYAL INDIAN ARMY SERVICE CORPS

Synopsis

June 1942. Newspaper close-ups referring to the Hur "menace" in Sind, including reports of the derailment of the Lahore mail train. Desert and camel scenes. Two Hurs are arrested by police. An army officer studies a map. A Hudson aircraft and Valentia bombers take off, carrying paratroops. The paratroops land and start operations. Hurs are brought in under military guard. Other arrested Hurs are taken to Hyderabad Station and are taken to jail in lorries. A collection of Hur weapons, including an axe. General Richardson appears briefly. Mr Young, Superintendent of Police.

5 August 1942. Men working in the Number 9 (?) Animal Transport Company (mules) of the Royal Indian Army Service Corps in Razmak, India (now Pakistan). A farrier shoeing a mule. Rissaldar Sahib controlling grooming with whistles. Camels. Various troops. 8th Gurkhas flag and guard.
