Synopsis

At Katha, on the River Irrawaddy in northern Burma, American signalmen lay a telephone line across the river.

Views of the linesmen at work on a telegraph pole, and climbing up and down by means of irons, with views across the river. The cable is paid out from a spool. A signaller gets into a local boat. Paddled across. Raft with Indian Engineers approaching. Man swimming ashore. Pulling up the cable from the river with a view of its ceramic insulator. Climbing pole.
