Synopsis

5.5-inch Medium Guns of 1st Medium Regiment go into action at Nyaungbintha in Burma, during operations on the Shwebo Plain.

Lorry-towed 5.5-inch Medium Gun crosses an irrigation channel. Closer shots of the gun passing; it is draped with camouflage netting. Towed 40mm Bofors anti-aircraft gun passes. More shots, some close, of the 5.5-inch and 40mm guns passing. Close-up of water lilly growing in the field. Men camouflaging their gun. Barrel elevating. The units seen are not identified on the dopesheet, but 1st Medium Regiment and 44th Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment were part of XXXIII Indian Corps. Corresponding still photographs, held by the Imperial War Museum's Photograph Archive identify 1st Medium Regiment.
