Synopsis

Troops of 3 Commando Brigade assault the Myebon peninsula in the Arakan coastal region of Burma, with the support of tanks, aircraft and naval gunfire.

Views from a landing craft or similar of various craft. Fine shot of Indian Navy Black Swan class sloop HMIS Jumna (pennant number) U21 with landing craft mechanised (LCM) passing opposite direction. Smoke in the distance with motor launch in foreground. Boats, smoke and aircraft visible in distance. Sloops firing. Shots of HMIS Jumna firing. Long lens shot smoke in the distance; a small explosion or impact is seen. Wider shot (shorter lens). White streak of smoke, presumably laid by an aircraft. Troops aboard an LCM; some wear bush hats, others berets or steel helmets. Various shots of landing craft heading ashore. Troops wading ashore. A large column of dust or smoke from an explosion on the beach; it dwarfs the small figures of men nearby. The cameramans landing craft withdraws as more men wade ashore. A wading Sherman tank of 19th Lancers passes. Troops aboard a minesweeper board a landing craft. Landing craft heading to shore. Shot from a slightly odd angle of men wading ashore somewhat gingerly; one man has a Thompson submachine gun across his shoulders and another carries a mortar tripod. More men wading ashore in the distance. Closer shot man wading; he is waist deep in water and has a cigarette in his mouth. Wide shot beach with shell bursts. Wounded men on a landing craft are transferred to an Indian Navy sloop. Blood (?) on the deck.
