Synopsis

At a Field Ambulance unit near Pauktabin in central Burma, British troops of 36th Division receive typhoid inoculations.

A syringe is taken out of a pan of hot water on a stove and placed in a kidney dish. Typhoid vaccine is drawn up the syringe. Shirtless soldier with a slung Sten gun has his arm swabbed. Close-up injection administered. Another man, noticeably muscly and with his upper body covered in tattoos, is swabbed. A mans paybook is marked with the date of the inoculation. More shots of injections, etc.

Notes

A brief film but illustrating well the preventive medical treatment of troops in a theatre where tropical diseases were rife.
