Synopsis

"ALL INDIA CELEBRATIONS ON VICTORY DAY" I. "DELHI". At the Church of the Redemption India's Viceroy attends a Thanksgiving Service. Connaught Place sees the largest military parade ever held in the capital with more than five thousand servicemen and women taking part. II. "LAHORE". Forty six Chinese aircraft take part in an air display as a mile-long procession marches down the Lahore Mall. III. "CALCUTTA". Parades are held in a city that was once near the front line, where peace means a return to normality after years of bombs and blackouts. IV. "MADRAS". Special ceremonial service with crowds of fifty thousand people out to cheer the soldiers. V. "SHILLONG". Allied soldiers march past the Governor. VI. "NAGPUR". Victory Parade held. VII. "LUCKNOW". Victory parade through triumphal arches and Victory gates. VIII. "KARACHI". Procession of jeeps led the Victory march through the city.
