Synopsis
I. "JAPANESE CAPITULATE AT PENANG". Captain Hidaka, representing the Japanese naval Commander-in-Chief at Penang, boards the battleship Nelson to offer their surrender. Penang becomes the first big city to be liberated in Malaya. II. "SINGAPORE LIBERATED". General Itagki, Japanese Commander-in-Chief of Singapore, surrenders on board the H.M.S. Sussex. Singapore is swiftly occupied by the Allies.
