Synopsis

I. "INDIAN NATIONAL DEFENCE COUNCIL IN MALAYA". Members of the National Defence Council inspect Army bases and address the troops on the government's plans for their resettlement in civilian life. II. "LORD ALANBROOKE IN HONG KONG". Chief of the Imperial General Staff continues his tour of the battle fronts. III. "BURMA RICE FOR INDIA". The S.S. Urbino arrives at Calcutta's Kidderpore docks carrying the first consignment of Burmese rice to reach Bengal after an interval of four years. The people of the province are recovering from the disastrous effects of the famine. IV. "SECUNDERABAD RENDITED TO HYDERABAD". A simple ceremony marks the handing back of the town of Secunderabad to the Nizam's Government.
