I. "THE RAINS CAME TO KARACHI" Monsoon rainstorms hit Karachi. Scenes of children playing in rain, citizens wading through streets and Army drivers moving along flooded roads.

II. "NOURISH THE LAND TO GROW MORE FOOD" British experts are sent to India to help make chemical fertilisers and are taken to see a scale model of India's river system in a garden in Poona. Commentary mentions the strange habit of the Hooghly river which has a periodical giant wave, called a bore. The wave is made in miniature in the garden.

III. "A SIGN OF THE TIMES" Scenes of the removal of a bridge, a former Wonder of the World. Engineers, protected by nets to prevent them falling into the gorge, sling the bridge by chains. The span of the bridge is pulled back onto land by running it on rollers. Commentary notes, "The Chief Foreman and the Chief Engineer were pleased with each other....they'd made a fine job of destroying what the last generation had built. Maybe, a sign of the times".

IV. "THE CAPTURE OF KHA KHUNOU" Scenes leading up to the Allied capture of Ningthoukhong Kha Khunou in Burma from the Japanese after the capture of Ukhrul. Battle scenes involve troops on ground and parachute drops. Scenes of Japanese prisoners and an army vehicle driving into a ditch. Tanks provide a "death dealing shield to infantry behind". In the Tiddim area, outside Ningthoukhong Kha Khunou, a spotter plane provides information to artillery gunners prior to attack. Scenes of a radio post, bombers at night going into action and tanks pressing forward.
