Notes

20th Indian Division had been responsible for French Indo-China since the Japanese surrender in August 1945. Embroiled in sporadic violence between Vietnamese nationalist forces and the French population, by the time this film was shot they were being withdrawn and responsibility transferred to the French.

The SS Islami was a 1,200-capacity passenger liner operated by the Mogul Line.
