Notes

Before Indian independence Jaipur was a princely state ruled by the Maharajah. The Jaipur Guards, as Indian State Forces, were raised locally and were not strictly part of the Indian Army. Jaipur would shortly be incorporated into the state of Rajasthan in the independent Indian republic, while the Guards would become part of the republic's army.
