Synopsis

Sir Miles Dempsey, commander of Allied Land Forces South East Asia (ALFSEA), departs by air from Kallang airport, Singapore, and a number of senior officers see him off.

Dempsey gets out of his car at Kallang airport. Dempsey at the salute. Dempsey inspects a guard of honour provided by the RAF Regiment. He chats with other senior officers including Admiral Morse, Flag Officer Malaya. Dempsey and Lord Mountbatten, the Supreme Allied Commander South East Asia.

Notes

Dempsey was leaving in order to take up a new appointment as Commander-in-Chief Middle East. He had previously commanded Second Army in north west Europe.
