Synopsis

At Singapore's Cathay Building Lord Killearn, special commissioner, leads a conference to discuss food shortages in south and south east Asia, with a clinical demonstration at Tan Tock Seng Hospital .

This conference formed part of Allied attempts to remedy a severe shortage of food throughout south east Asia, which had been caused by the economic dislocation of the war.
