SULTAN OF SELANGOR'S BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION AT KLANG

Synopsis

In honour of the Sultan of Selangor's 48th birthday, a parade is mounted on the Klang padang in Selangor, Malaya.

The Sultan arrives and is greeted by an unnamed officer. Shaded by a bearer with parasol he inspects a guard of honour of the recently re-raised Malay Regiment and is followed by a large and colourfully dressed retinue. Party arrive at the padang at Klang. He inspects a gun crew of 114th Field Regiment Royal Artillery, formed up by their Ordnance QF 25-pounder. He inspects a guard of 7th Battalion 2nd Punjab Regiment. The Sultan on a saluting base for a march past. Close-up of the Sultan. Leaving the base. A battery of the 114th Field Regiment fire a salute; there is a large Islamic-looking building on the hill in the background which is possibly the Mahkota Puri Palace. Gun crew at their gun.
