Synopsis

In Kuching, capital of Sarawak, the acting Governor Mr C W Dawson is sworn in, with the Governor-General of Malaya, Malcolm MacDonald, in attendance.

Sarawak Constabulary troops present arms. J B Archer, Officer Administering the Government, takes the salute. He inspects sailors of HMS Alacrity and the Sarawak Constabulary. Local spectators on the Pangkalan Batu. The Governor-General Malcolm MacDonald takes a salute before inspecting the two contingents. He enters the Court House. Children watching. Court house clock (10:10am); tilt down. Acting Governor C W Dawson inspects the contingents. He gets into a car. MacDonald leaving the Court House. MacDonald departing by covered canoe for the Astana, the Rajah of Sarawak's residence. Very dark shot of a cocktail party in progress aboard HMS Alacrity.
