After the capture of Gangaw, East African troops advance towards the River Irrawaddy, Burma, while gunners go into action and RAF Hurricanes attack a village.

Notes

The dopesheet for this film is rather vague as to details of units and locations. However, 11th East African Division were withdrawn from the front to Imphal in December 1944. These troops are therefore likely to be 28th East African Infantry Brigade, who were an independent brigade of 14th Army attached to IV Corps. On 2 February 1945 this brigade was part of a succesful deception operation designated 'Cloak', marching to Seikpyu on the Irrawaddy, in order to mislead the Japanese as to the site of IV Corps' crossing of the river. The identity of the artillery battery and the Gurkha unit, along with the name of the village seen being shelled and bombed, are unclear.

The dopesheet refers to the capture of 'Kangaw', but this is probably a misnaming of 'Gangaw' a village on the Myittha River (captured 10 January) where 7th Indian Division assembled in secret before making its drive on the Irrawaddy.
