Synopsis
In the Arakan coastal region of Burma, men board landing craft at Kyaukpyu beach on Ramree Island for amphibious landings at Pyin-Wan.
At a bend in a river somewhere near Pyin-Wan, a cloud of smoke from an explosion near a landing craft; another landing craft passes foreground. Aircraft overhead. A Landing Craft Tank (LCT) 2487 approaches a beach and lowers its ramp. The cameramans Landing Craft Mechanised (LCM) drops its ramp. A jeep drives off and men disembark. Chaung and landing craft. A Grant medium tank drives off LCT 2487 but gets stuck. It is dragged forward by a bulldozer. A Grant driving off; it is marked with a 4 in a triangle on its turret. Another Grant drives ashore. Men busy digging; a Royal Indian Navy beachmaster uses a loudspeaker. General activity at the beachhead; jerry cans are carried off a landing craft. The cans are dumped.
