Synopsis
The making of taufolo from bread-fruit. Women make thatch panels from sugar cane leaf. Making of cord from strands from a coconut husk. Old men plait the cord. Cooking of cuttlefish (or small octopus) in its own ink. Thatched panels are put in to position. Canoes. Preparation of Palusami from the leaves of the Taro plant. Fish-fencing. Husking of coconuts. Basket making. Goggle fishing. Making of the drink Kava. A matai tufunga (master carpenter) carving house posts. House timbers are lashed together with coconut coir cord. Skinning bananas. Cooking roast pig and cuttle fish. More house building.
