Synopsis

Compilation uses stock shot material to cover sinking of British Force Z off Malaya and actuality of airborne capture of Celebes and air attack on Allied fleet off Java.

Main title reads "Naval warfare off Malaya. 10 December. Invincible Navy ruined the British and American fleets." Japanese admiral speaks live into microphone surrounded by naval officers and against backdrop in Japanese script. "British battleship Repulse" over film of the ship docked, with HMS Ark Royal in background (therefore not at Singapore). Smiling sailors wear HMS Repulse capband and board vessel. "British battleship Prince of Wales" over bow view of King George V class battleship and Prince of Wales nameplate. British sailor signals on battleship. King George V class battleship at anchor. "Southeast Asia. Paratroops. The first jump on the Celebes. 11 January." Over a map of SE Asia an arrow links Japan with the Celebes. Large formation of Mitsubishi G3M2s crosses coastline and flies over hilly terrain. Planes release paratroops and supply canisters in long aerial sequence. Japanese parade before flag. Local inhabitants. Japanese soldiers walk past palm trees, carrying Type 92 heavy machine gun on mount. "Naval warfare off Java. 4 February." Over a map of SE Asia and Northern Australia an arrow points from Japan to Java. Mitsubishi G4M1 bombers in flight prior to attacking three ships (part of Allied Dutch/US force of cruisers and destroyers) north of Bali. Ships take evasive action as bombs explode in sea nearby.
