Synopsis

Shot by Corporal Lloyd: Wide shot, city street in Kandy near city hall; the Moore steps from his car. He receives the salute of a guard of honour from the Kandy police. He inspects the guard, which is armed with short (Martini-Enfield?) carbines. Governor walks to city hall accompanied by E T Dyson, the local Government Agent. The guard marches away. Local men and children sitting on a wall. A street with a (probably temporary) decorative archway marked ‘WELCOME’. Local civilians at the roadside, some with umbrellas against the bright sunshine. Closer shot ‘WELCOME to His Excellency the Governor Sir Henry Monck-Mason Moore’. Waiting local dancers in traditional dress; civilians and policemen mill about. Moore’s car passes. Moore and Lady Moore step from their car and are greeted by Dyson and a traditional drummer plays in the background.
