Synopsis

Leading the tanker `Coronda' into the ice for the first time; loading water and coal and discharging oil; Salvesen on motor boat; Dr Petrovich play acting; whale catcher in background; stern of `Silvestria'; whale catcher getting up speed; Cape Pigeon; whale up slip; men working; flocks of seagulls; whale on deck with two wires on it; chunks of blubber going into the hacking machine and then down to boilers; drawing up the carcass; head and jaw coming away; head difficult to saw. The first floating factory equipped to make full use of all the meat. South Sandwich Islands.
