Synopsis
I. Review of the Year 1943": "The Home Front": The U-Boat war turned in Britain's favour. Tribute to the RAF: scenes in an aircraft factory; shots of damage in Hamburg and Berlin. Third Anniversary of the Home Guard. The first prisoners released from Germany were welcomed home. The "Scharnhorst was sunk off Norway".
II. "The Russian Front": Scenes from the Battle of Stalingrad. The Germans surrendered. The Russian Offensive continued, liberating many towns and villages.
III. "The Far East Front": Aid and supplies were given to China. US amphibious forces drove the Japs from the Aleutian Islands. Montage of various Pacific battlegrounds. Lord Louis Mountbatten appointed Supreme C-in-C in SE Asia.
IV. "The Mediterranean Front": Montgomery is shown in North Africa. Victories were won at Tripoli and Tunisia. Among the captured Germans was General Von Arnim. Pantelleria was surrendered. Montgomery speaks. Sicily was invaded. Mussolini crashed. Italy surrendered. Scenes of fighting at Salerno. Shots of Churchill conferences at Cairo and at Teheran.
