Synopsis
Main title. "This great function took place outside Delhi and in importance and magnificence exceeded all such events known in history." The Viceroy arrives. The Viceroy's carriage drives between the ranks of soldiers, behind which are waiting crowds (21). "Now the King and Queen". A similar shot of King George V and Queen Mary wearing crowns (35); then a more distant shot of the general procession (64); followed (64-74) by the arrival of the Viceroy at the canopied dais and a further shot of the King and Queen driving in their carriage and arrival on the dais (178). Groups of Indians come towards the King and Queen and bow to them, after which Their Majesties move away to another platform (291); round this can be seen long ranks of troops in formation (308). "Long live the Emperor and Empress". The Royal party then descend the steps of the platform and walk away (356). Several shots of the procession leaving the ceremony (393). "Scenes in the streets of the new capital of India". Several shots of crowded streets in Delhi (462ft).
