Synopsis

I. "The road to Mandalay." Report that the Fourteenth Army is beating back the Japanese is accompanied by film illustrating the difficult conditions under which this campaign is being fought: soldiers ford a shallow stream and continue on through a path in the jungle; others throw a Bailey bridge ("196 feet and the biggest in the war") across the Chindwin River, enabling trucks and artillery to pass across; guns open fire; Hurricanes fly low and attack enemy positions hidden in the jungle. A soldier home on leave remarks upon the climatic difference between Burma and Britain.

II. "Snow - in Canada." Blizzard scene in Toronto.

III. "The Bulge - British pressure." Snow lies on the Western Front where soldiers of the British Second Army, taking part in the operation against the Rundstedt Salient, move along an open road. View of Montgomery in the field, with adulatory commentary.
