Synopsis

I. "Lady Louis inspects Indian hospitals." Lady Mountbatten visits a ward speaking to injured soldiers who are bedridden. Others practice "what is called occupational therapy" (sewing), a new idea. The purpose of Lady Mountbatten's visit is said to be to express the nation's gratitude and to tell them they "are far from being forgotten." She also visits another hospital where Indian wounded are cared for.

II. "The Rocket Tank." Demonstration of a new weapon, the Sherman tank with 60 rocket tubes mounted on the turret. Rockets can be fired singly, or in series, or simultaneously, giving the equivalent of 60 105mm howitzers in fire-power. Film of rockets being fired by day and night, when the tank is both stationary and moving. French locals look on.

III. "What they left behind." View of the castle at Rheydt presented to Goebbels by the citizens of his birth place and now captured by the Americans. Civilians in the streets of Juechen (?). At Krefeld citizens loot a German army truck before being halted by US soldiers.

IV. "The Bridge." US tanks and infantry stream across the Remagen bridge; captured Germans cross in the opposite direction.
