Casquet is removed from gun carriage and taken up steps into the chapel.

II. Indian troops enter Baghdad.

II. 'WITH THE BRITISH IN BAGHDAD. Some of our splendid Indian Troops on the march through the famous City of Arabian Nights.' Indian troops - possibly from the 7th (Meerut) Division - march along 'New Street' in Baghdad. Only a few locals are evident.

III. Pan over anchored battleships.

IV. 'HOSPITAL FOR AEROPLANES. How British 'planes winged by Boche bullets are got ready for action again behind the lines.' MS as wing and tail section of BE 2c 2059 are taken into a hangar. Aircraft fuselages are recovered. A wing section is placed on a trestle ready to be worked upon. MS of an already extensively cannibalised BE 2c lying nosed over. Men take more parts away from aircraft scrapyard.

V. Australian 18-pounder gun in action.

V. 'SUICIDE CORNER. Australians having worked round this dangerous spot of evil name bring one of their 18 pounders into action.' A working party moves up carrying water cans, boxes of Mills bombs, rolls of barbed wire, etc. Some glance round at the camera as they pass. Rear view of an 18-pounder gun in a sandbagged emplacement, empty cartridge cases stacked neatly in the foreground - the gun crew (one wearing a pickelhaube) take up their positions - the gun layer arranging a spare sandbag as a cushion for himself. The gun fires three times.

Summary (item V): there were many 'Suicide Corners' on the Western Front, but this probably refers to that near the Dixmude road, North of Ypres

General: this is the first of the War Office Topical Budgets in the NTB series to include after the main titles the declaration that the newsreel devotes all its profits to charity
