Synopsis
I. "Heiress to the throne." Princess Elizabeth, now aged 18, visits the National Sea Scout Exhibition wearing the uniform of a Sea Ranger.
II. "Tito partisans train in Malta." Wounded Yugoslav partisans, including girls, convalesce at a special camp in Malta where they receive training in the use of Allied arms. Uniformed partisans parade as their flag (present day Yugoslav national flag) is raised. Commentary states "People of Yugoslavia have never collaborated. The day will soon dawn when over their liberated homeland the standard will fly again."
III. "News in flashes." a. General Alexander decorates Lord Gort's son-in-law, Major Sidney, with the VC b. View of German "doodlebug tank" ("Goliath"), cable controlled with a 250 lb explosive charge. "Proved a flop."
IV. "The other man's job. Jute output meets myriad wartime needs." Bales of jute are unloaded at the dockside before being processed (detailed views) to form cloth, used for sacking, camouflage netting, shoe soles and as a covering for electric cables.
