I. "Nazis jittery, say returned prisoners." Liner with 638 repatriated prisoners on board docks at Liverpool, where Canadian High Commissioner Vincent Massey is among those waiting on the quayside. Germany is reported to be in a "bad state of nerves as it hourly awaits the British attack; also the Germans are very sore about the bombing." Interviewed soldiers, captured in Norway, France and Greece in 1940 and 1941, give humorous replies which betray little hostility to their former captors. "Germans are beginning to change."

II. "Rome in sight." Reinforcements land at Anzio and move inland where fierce fighting continues (soldiers advance crouching and firing). German POWs are blood tested for malaria. Item emphasises the Allied composition of the army by recording the capture of Piedimonte, Aquino and Pontecorvo by Indian, Polish, British and American forces.

III. "The other man's job. Felt goes to war on all fronts." Wool from the Dominions is seen being transformed into felt, which has replaced rubber for various wartime purposes. Red Army wears British felt boots.
