Synopsis
I. "Aktuelles in Kuerze." a. Anniversary of ERP marked by Washington banquet for representatives of all nations involved, in honour of George Marshall; President Truman speaks. b. President Renner of Austria visits a new hydro-electric scheme in Kaprun and views progress in building of dam. c. A caravan of camels loads up with building-stones, at the ruined site of "Ali Baba's" cave. d. London: "Trooping the Colour" on King George's birthday.
II. Braunschweig Technical High School conducts tests on various building materials for strength and soundproofing; special machinery developed for latter experiment.
III. New Guinea tribal dances and chants; men and women encountering mirrors, umbrellas etc. for first time (while commentary recalls former days of headhunting etc).
IV. 'BERLIN after the Blockade'. Life returns to normal: shops remove oil lamps from their windows; fresh meat, vegetables and potatoes on sale; curious children encounter fresh fruit; picnics at the lakeside resorts.
V. Sport. a. 6-nation athletics in London. b. Berlin: tennis international (visiting American players). c. Indianapolis Grand Prix (including film of a crash/fire).
