Synopsis
FARCE: The Boer War: Ex-con Private Doubleday saves the life of Major Pyke and is recommended for the VC. Instead, his past catches up and he goes to prison. Pyke brings up Doubleday's son Charlie Chisholm with his own grandson Willie Pyke. Years later, Charlie is a successful crooked financier, Willie a failed pickpocket.
