Synopsis
Carving wooden pillows. Cutting a suitable branch - a forked section - which is measured, shaped with axe and adze and finally with a knife. The wood is left to dry, then rubbed with butter and heated over the fire. Final smoothing and shaping (194). Decorated carving patterns: in this case an interlaced design set in a rectangle, and triangualr shapes. Examples of finished pillows, and a pillow with the tools used in the making (311ft). [16mm].
